He is doing research on Nano-particle Chemistry at the Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry at Leibniz University, Hannover, Germany; has travelled across the globe to present his research work, has published his research in top tier journals: Suraj Naskar, from Belsingha Sikshayatan, Falta, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal has made immense strides to defeat all odds. Here is his journey in his own words:

“Hailing from a family with a monthly income of less than 1200 rupees, it was really difficult for my family to make ends meet and to support me and my brother for our education. I came to know about Paramparik from a newspaper advertisement in 2008 after I finished my HS. I immediately applied for scholarship from Paramparik – The Tradition. The finances regarding my college fees and the necessary books were granted to me on the very same day.

My journey with Paramparik had begun that day. Afterwards, I received monthly scholarships from the organization to support my education and it continued even after I passed out as a Master of Science from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.

I received an offer to pursue my higher studies in Germany, but at that time I had neither the money to buy a flight ticket nor the first month expenses to stay in Germany. Many would assume that I could have gone for a bank loan, but the problem was that to receive a loan one needed to have a person who can sign the paper bearing the responsibility for the needy person. I was not lucky enough to have an uncle or relatives who could actually sign the papers for me. The only ray of hope at that time was Paramparik. I managed to get the flight ticket by the help of my present institute and received the money for the first month expenses from Paramparik.
Today, I am doing research on Nanoparticle Chemistry, which I always wanted to do after I passed out from Asutosh College, Kolkata.

Concluding, I would like to express my respect to all the members of Paramparik and to my parents for being with me and for making me what I am today. I believe that this organization is very helpful for the poor but brilliant students and also for the economically feeble patients suffering from deadly diseases.”

Paramparik – The Tradition is proud to have been associated with Suraj, and hopes it can be of service to the many other bright, young Suraj’s out there.
